Matiz salts are harvested and produced by Salina San Vicente since 1775, one of the last remaining companies producing salt in the 3,000 year old salt fields above the Bay of Cadiz. These small salt flats take advantage of strong constant winds from the Sahara Desert in Africa to facilitate the evaporation of seawater. The saline water constantly flows from one pond to another through gravity. No machinery or water pumps are necessary to facilitate the process. This product has been produced free of soy, gluten, nuts, dairy, and genetically engineered ingredients.
